Cozy Valentine's Day ideas for busy parents

Cozy Valentine's Day ideas for busy parents

Certified life coach, Muara Makarim shares her ideas for celebrating Valentine's Day...that don't involve expensive dinners out or finding a babysitter. If flying solo, you could even do some of these activities with your little ones. Read on below for Muara's helpful hints...

Morning delights

  • Breakfast in bed: Whip up a heart-shaped pancake breakfast, complete with love notes hidden under each flap. You can also involve your kids to help decorate with sprinkles and whipped cream, or color the love notes.
  • Love notes: Leave sweet messages hidden around the house, leading your partner on a treasure hunt that ends with flowers, chocolate or favourite cup of coffee.

Evening enchantment

  • Candle light dinner at home: dress up, cook a 3-course meal, light a candle, play romantic music, dim the light when the kids are asleep. Tell stories, reminisce about your journey together, and simply enjoy each other's company. Don’t forget to put your phones away.

  • Cozy movie marathon: Dust off those cozy blankets, make some popcorn, and snuggle up for a classic rom-com session and remind yourselves why you fell in love in the first place.

Remember, Valentine's Day isn't about grand gestures or extravagant spending. It's about celebrating the love, laughter, and connection you have with each other. So, embrace the cozy chaos, focus on being present, and let your love shine through, even if it's through a messy house and screaming kids.

Happy Valentine's Day weary parents! You deserve all the love, laughter, and cozy blankets the world can offer.
